Ignez has developed a sound shaped by instinct, atmosphere and repetition. Growing up near the Dutch coast, the rhythm of waves and open space became a quiet but lasting influence, feeding into a tight, hypnotic approach to techno that resists clear definition.
His artistic vision first took form through his own imprint, Somov Records, which introduced his minimal yet driving sound world. Alongside this, releases on respected labels such as Token and SK_eleven, including collaborative EPs with Rødhåd, have positioned him firmly within contemporary techno’s deeper currents.
As a DJ, Ignez focuses on immersion rather than impact. His sets unfold patiently, pulling the dancefloor into a trance-like state through subtle progression and sustained momentum. A long-standing residency with Eerste Communie has played a key role in shaping this approach, grounding his sound in experience, trust and long-form storytelling.
